The Flag of the United States:

Symbolism can be represented as a object such as a flag, or as objective, or cause such as the broad description often used in patriotism.

The Danger of symbolism is that the meaning of the symbol, unless locked down precisely in documented and indisputable description,... can change.

Therefore if one is to place the flag, a symbol, in a position of high order of respect; and the terms, aggressions and defenses in the name of patriotic resolve; the United States Flag and the meaning of patriotism should be defined in a foundation of absolute terms.

This foundation is clearly defined in the Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights. If all the laws of this country would adhere to all of these foundations, the term of being patriotic would be upheld.

However, at this time in this country's history, it is not entirely so. Therefore the term ``Patriotic" and its meaning have been watered down.

Consequentially so has the definition of the Flag.

First lets take a look at the Declaration of Independence; it is the document and soul reason we are free. Its meanings are precise in defining the basis or foundation of freedom through discussion of grievances and certain rights:

Declaration of Independence: ``That all men are created equal" that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

Governments are created to protect these rights. That any power a government has is there only with the consent of the people.

*** This does not give the people or the government the power to change or abolish inalienable rights which cannot be given away, sold, weakened or transferred.

Should the government try to alter or destroy any inalienable rights, it is the right of the people, any one or number of people, to alter or abolish that government and create a new government that respects those inalienable rights which make a government ask consent of the governed; for which this right of altercation or abolishment is granted. They are describing here why they are separating and setting the stage for that what it is that will be most likely to effect their safety and happiness.

Declaration of Independence: ``That, to secure these rights, ( CDF: this makes a very sharp distinction between God given or Natural Rights and any type of government) governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed; ``

Government is given their just powers by the consent of the governed, Rights are independent just powers and independent of any person or government.

Declaration of Independence: ``that, whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute a new government, laying its foundation on such principles, and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness."

The major point here, is that the ``Constitution", aside from the Bill of Rights, is subject to change;

Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness and the ``among these" : the ``Bill of Rights", are not.

If the changeable portion of the Constitution i.e. democratic portion of our government does not defend these rights, then we, each of us, is presented our Right and Subject to our Duty as outlined in the Declaration of Independence, to throw it out. (not ask it to leave)

The definition of the Flag and Patriotism is therefor defined in the absolute unchangeable meanings of the Declaration of Independence and the `` among these"... the Bill of Rights.

These are what true American patriotism is, not a vague changing, altered or watered down definition of meanings presented by congress, lower laws, or the changeable portions of the Constitution.

It would be more assuring to defend a country, its patriotism and Flag that these absolute meanings are defined.

Our stand, is that the Flag be respected when it is flown respectful of these absolute definitions;

But if the meanings of its symbol are corrupted by those who fly it, then the flag meaning and respect should be restored.

The Flag itself is however not a human, it is a material object, and its true meaning defends the freedom of expression of any kind, whether tasteful or not;

It is the meaning, not the material symbol that is sacred.

If the meaning is being altered, changed or watered down, then some have attacked the symbol in defense of the meaning.

This, although disturbing for some to see, is actually not bad if the "meaning" of the flag, which is sacred, is by our own government, being tampered with.

This freedom of expression is usually carried out to make a point or point out their distaste of American policies which are contrary, or what is believed contrary, to the meanings the flag is suppose to stand for.

We do not believe in blind patriotism.

The Freedom of expression may alert the country to a serious injustice, and most distasteful displays are short lived.

That being said, so that the meaning is never misconceived, it is our suggestion to sew the Declaration of Independence and the original ``Bill of Rights" into the white areas of the flag and within trim surrounding it.

This, as it is the meaning, not the symbol, that is what this country stands for.

Further, this will display to the world exactly what it is to be an American and a Patriot and what we fight and die for.

If you do not know what we fight for, the opposite of those 40 Grievances define what freedom is.
