Cascade Siskiyou National Monument - Old News - New Again!

In 1994-1996 The Jenny Creek Private Lands Coalition tried to warn people of BLM's intentions. The below 1996 Medford Mail Tribune article shows how BLM will lie through their teeth just to acquire more land for their job security through bureaucratic expansion;

Today, the monument dedication, presented four days before the end of the public comment period, shows BLM - the Department of the Interior and the past Clinton's white house disregard for the publics wishes...especially on those most affected. We are still waiting for President Bush to act!

> Here BLM hides their true goals from the public. In a recent meeting they used for their "defense" to a question posed them that they have been working for 15 years on the proposed Cascade emphasis area.

One must realize that the local BLM excuse of their management goals being placed upon them by Washington doesn't hold up. Washington depends on the local BLM to advise them on what to implement in our area. It is a sure thing that Clinton never knew, and certainly has no personal care, of this area.

Their "that's all we're looking at" statement is an out right purposeful lie.

> Here just four years later, a study for which they now say they have been working on for fifteen years, surfaces and blossoms into a national monument. They say it came from the white house; we know it originated locally by bureaucratic government union expansionism.

Their "Even if" shows there willful attempt to hide their intentions from the public.

Their lack of regard for "public interest" now is no different now than it was four years ago. 99% of those affected by the monument are against it.

A better statement here would be they don't care what you think, we'll protect our paycheck.

This is what happens when you place power in the hands of bureaucratic pee-ons (no, I spelled that correctly). How much arrogance would they have if they were voted in by local election.

The information we sent at that time as our "legitimate concerns" was waved off as nothing in their very own "Hearings and Appeals" court in VA. Local government had no say as to the validity and truthfulness of the concerns, land values and comparison values of the trade.

Our statement on the real reasons for erosion were proved out in the last flood, where it would take two hundred million cows to stand up and jump on the banks for a hundred years to cause the erosion of just one 25 year flood.

The beaver were nearly trapped out of existence on Jenny Creek after this article so BLM could spout that their management of cattle began returning willows to the banks (see deceptive photos). In just two years from the time this article was published, we went from seven beaver dams on our ranch to one or two.

The rest of our statements were proven true by the present BLM cascade emphasis study and monument dedication. They did it for us.

If you have reviewed this entire site, you will have well recognized that what we say is true and that BLM lies to obtain their "un defined" goal of acquisition and control over all private lands and is indeed a major player in the new socialism. Alarmists you say? Here is presented the printed true evidence you cannot dispute. We need to put a freeze on hiring federal employees and begin reducing government payroll welfare and lift zoning laws so free enterprise and jobs can prosper.

June 2000 Parade - Longest in Ashland's History

-200 vehicles take a 2 hour round trip loop through Ashland

The longest parade in Ashland's history presented a strong message that dictatorship will not be tolerated in a free country as a 2 hour path of vehicles made their way from the old McGrews sawmill to the center of Ashland and back.

Commissioners spoke out against Clinton's blatant disregard of the local publics views toward the Soda Mountain monument by declaring the area a monument a week before the deadline for public comment.

The majority of residences most affected are against the area being placed under this designation including the majority of sportsmen in the area who understand the strict regulations imposed under such ruling.

The local BLM has tried to distance themselves from the ruling claiming the whole plan came from Babbit, however it was their prodding that presented it to Babbit and Clinton in the first place. How else would they even know of the area?

This shows that our local BLM employees came from the same box of cigars ...the short box with the star and sickle emblem on the out side.

County commissioners are looking into legal means to combat Clinton's attack on local residences. Local residences and sporting groups are gearing up for a battle.

May Meeting Notes

A recent meeting was called by the local residence of Hwy. 66 and the surrounding areas which are to be affected by the proposed Soda Mountain monument area.

As a result 95% of local residents were against it and should be left as it is, open for all uses.

The biggest factor was that BLM's own information that this is a unique area, affirms that what has been done in this area for 100 years in grazing and other uses has worked and if it isn't broke - don't fix it.

The BLM spokesman tripped and stumbled trying to defend their plans but was caught on one lie after another from the jeers from the local residence who have dealt time and time again with the same lies. Every time they mentioned being the residents neighbors there was much scoffing heard.

"BLM has nothing to do with local water rights! That is entirely up to the State!" he pronounced in reply to a question.

He was silenced by the fact presented that BLM takes water temperatures ahead and below private property as well as watching the private property silt out put, if any, reporting and turning the property owner's in to every state and local agency if they find the slightest change. One property owner had been buzzed several times by a helicopter as they photographed creek work done and turned in, even though they were full within there rights do the work and which had effected nothing.

Then to top that off, at least two water right holders had their Klamath Falls Adjudication water rights applications contested by BLM via certified mail the very next day.

"We won't change anything" the BLM spokesman pronounced. Then when asked what would happen if Clinton signed it off as a Monument stated "Then all bets are off". The arrogance was very obvious in his replies.

The studies BLM printed were found to be so contradictory, that they were useless as a documentation of anything; and were summed up as two very expensive books of meaningless maps and known history intermingled with BLM's agenda which promises doing nothing but creating more regulations.

Many private property rights, cattle lease land grazing rights, lively hoods and freedoms as well as sporting rights are in danger.

It is no wonder that the office of hearings and appeals that hear all opposition to BLM is a "in house" BLM agency in Virginia instead of a local county court here in Oregon.

If BLM or the president pushes forward with this plan(s). It will be against the will of the majority of local residence.

Such bureaucratic expansion is a sure sign that government unions and environmental nonprofit organizations are the new socialism in America. Their blatant aggressions present a threat to freedoms which can only be curtailed and stopped by freezes on hiring of federal employees; By returning land to the states thereby reducing their voting strength through reducing their numbers. So called nonprofit agencies in turn need to be just that - nonprofit and regulated and limited to their involvement with the government, land acquisitions, general area dealings and involvement (must be locally ran for local issues by local people - state granted, not federal) and hourly wage limits set so not to encourage being developed as a business under the "guise" of being charitable or helpful as to a cause. Because of corporation, government and private unions and special interests....all socialistic in their operation,... independent single property owners and businesses do not stand a chance among the regulations, zoning, fiscal controls, price propping and meddling; and most of all, the invasion of the RIGHT of private property ownership.

By reading this and carefully reviewing how agencies like BLM work. You will see how placing a freeze on federal agency hiring and steady reduction of their presence is the only way to reduce the ever expanding bureaucracies by which socialism is created.
